We are very excited to be open again!
Now that we have opened our doors once again to serve great wine and food, we want to let you know what we are doing to guarantee our staff and customers the safest possible experience at Gordon’s Wine Bar.
For the time being we are offering a reduced number of tables on our terrace, with a limited number of tables available inside the bar. The table layout will respect the one metre plus rule, suggested by the government. Our tables on the terrace now have a five person maximum allowance.
When accessing the inside area, for loos and the bar, please remember to wear a face covering as per the new regulations issued by the government.
We want to offer the best possible experience to all our customers, with this in mind we have made a few temporary changes. We are currently not taking any bookings, including those for larger parties. We are also now cashless, accepting only card and contactless payment and Apple Pay. Queuing, if needed, will be outside the front gate on Villiers Street with marked distancing guides to help respect safety regulations. Strict new sanitising measures will be adopted throughout the bar by all our staff and we will encourage customers to sanitise their hands as they move about the premises with access to multiple sanitising stations.
We have taken the opportunity during the lockdown to refurbish our bathrooms and terrace. We’ve done thorough research into how to incorporate “the new normal” into the future of Gordon’s.
We have found that copper is a great antimicrobial material, microbes survive only a matter of seconds on its surface. Which is great news for our decor, as it has always been part of the aesthetic. We’ve also now incorporated it into our new bathrooms. All our doors’ push plates and handles will be made from a solid copper alloy with the appearance of stainless steel, or old brass which has similar anit-viral/microbial properties.
As the staff return to work we will closely monitor their health, using thermal scanning to check their temperature and technology to record and track their wellbeing. We will also be providing masks, which will be worn throughout service. The staff will be split into teams, to limit contact between one another and social distancing measures are being put into place to safeguard their safety and yours.
Our opening times will also differ temporarily:
Monday to Sunday: 12pm – 10pm
Finally, we will be complying with new governmental guidance to aid the NHS Test and Trace. Through Encapto, which ensures safeguarding of customer privacy, we will be asking our customers to record their personal details upon entry via our new customer WiFi. This information will solely be used, if needed, to assist the NHS Test and Trace service by keeping a temporary record of our customers and visitors for 21 days.
We also offer the option to use the NHS Covid-19 app directly with the QR code displayed at the entrance.
We are doing our absolute best to maintain the great atmosphere of Gordon’s and also respect and protect our customers and staff.
