SHOP

February 2024 at Gordon’s

Gordon’s has taken on the conservation and renovation of the “old, leaning sweet shop”. The charming, characteristic building is now under our care and has proven a real engineering feat to save and reinstate – although, no worries, the lean will still be there! The scaffolding has come down and the finishing touches are being applied. The basement will be used to expand our kitchen and the shop itself will be our opportunity to introduce great new business to Villiers Street.

The guys are back to working hard on the wine list. As we type this they can be overheard discussing how to revolutionise our offerings and in just a couple of weeks they will be off to Paris for the Wine Paris & Vinexpo in search of great new finds. Make sure to keep an eye out for what is to come throughout the year!

And we have saved the best for last, our vegan cheese selection is improving. While we have really enjoyed working with Palace Culture and do believe their products are fantastic, we felt the need to bring the vegan cheeses on to our main cheese options.

Very soon you will notice our cheese selection will include four amazing new vegan options. From local to London ‘La Fauxmagerie’ and ‘I Am Nut OK’, you will be spoilt for choice. The firm favourite with the staff, Nerominded, is a cashew based cheese with black truffle, activated charcoal and miso that has left us cheese lovers amazed. We will also include cheddar, blue and goat style plant-based cheeses which are sure to please all palates and pair perfectly with our vegan wines on the list.

We hope to see you all very soon to make the most of these last winter months, either hidden away in the cave or cosy under the awnings and heaters on the terrace. If you do pop-by we highly recommend our Cabernet Franc, Cuvée Madeleine. An easy drinking red with hints of raspberry, sour cherry and herbal notes.
